July 2016
Day 1:
We got off the airport, took the train to our stay, and checked into our hostel: Room018BCN. Out of the 3 hostels we stayed in Europe, this one was the best one – facility wise. The restroom and showers were so clean. However, this hostel was a bit further from all of the main attractions in Barcelona. My favorite hostel in Europe that we stayed in was the one in Paris, because of the vibe and location.
After we checked in, we rested and explored by taking the Transports Metropolitans de Barcelona (TMB) and walking!
This place is called: Turó de les tres creus. It wasn’t hard at all, it’s just uphill, but there were escalators leading up to this area. It’s near Park Guell. I would recommend to go early because it was quite hot haha.

Then we walked down and I was already impressed with their sculpture designs. For example, look at the outside of this church! Pretty!

Then we were behind the Sagrada Familia and walked around to look at the front. We didn’t go inside, but if I’m ever back, I will purchase a ticket to see the inside. The architecture was insane! So detailed – even under construction!

Then we stumbled upon a futbol exhibit/clothing store.

Another pretty building!

Then we got paellas for lunch! It was so good!! (Look at one of my bug bites near my shoulder…there were a few more bites from Europe, haha)

After that, we walked around and explored some more.

Day 1 was pretty chill, just exploring and getting to know the area.
Day 2:
We started off our day at Park Guell. You should get tickets in advance because they only let a certain amount of people in at a certain time/day.

Looks empty? Nah, it was hard to get a photo without anyone being in the shot haha! Look at my face below hehe 😉

I honestly don’t know why I touched the lizard? Haha

Then we went across and went inside the little house (it’s also in the first picture of Day 2..scroll back up if you want haha). It looks like a gingerbread house to me.

Park Guell is a pretty park! Love the designs!
After that, we went to Montjuic aka the Magic Fountain. It was beautiful & free!

The view from the top was just as gorgeous.

Then we walked behind the Montjuic and saw the Estadi Olimpic de Montjuic. We went inside and saw the stadium! It was so cool!!

Then, we just continue to walk, saw a random park with two women dipping their feet inside the fountain, and so did we! LOL! It was actually refreshing after all of that walking!

Then we walked passed this building and found out that it was a mall: Centro Comercial Arenas de Barcelona! It was cool! We also got a cheap & quick dinner here.

Then we went to the rooftop and saw the awesome view!

Then we went back to the Magic Fountain to watch the water light show! It definitely gets crowded. There are some places that you can step on to get a higher and better view of the show. It is free to watch too! They played music a wide range of music. The show reminded me of the Bellagio Fountain in Las Vegas and Disneyland – California Adventures World of Color mixed together. It was beautiful! If you sit or stand closer to the fountain, you can feel the splash!

This guy in my photo posed way better than my basic self LOL.

The show was beginning and Renee & I were in so in awe of it. We turned around and we were amazed at the beautiful lights behind us as well!!

Goodnight Barcelona! What a fun-filled day!
Day 3:
I feel bad because I genuinely don’t remember what happened on this day and I don’t have any written documentation in my journal at all…but I have 1 photo and these are our two friends from college. They were studying abroad as well and we met up! We were sitting on a ledge, talking, catching up, and somewhat watching the Magic Fountain. It also poured that evening and I remembered calling it an early night.

Day 4:
Renee & I went to Camp Nou and it was free to walk in and look at the exhibit of the stadium.

One day, I’ll be in there with the actual crowd 😉

Then we went to Barceloneta Beach!

After the beach, we grabbed paella for dinner.

Then that night we went to check out the nightlife near Barceloneta beach and it was crowded everywhere! We were also college students so we were on a budget and went to IceBarcelona. Pretty chill experience.

Day 5:
It was Renee & my last day in Barcelona, so we ate some tapas (this place was self served tapas. I’m sorry, I don’t remember the restaurant name), did some souvenir shopping, and sipped on some more sangrias!

Thank you Barcelona. You were a good last stop for our Summer 2016 Europe trip. #viviansventures
As always, thank you for visiting Vivian’s Ventures. Have you been to Barcelona? If so, tell me in the comments/reply section of your experience. What should I do there if I go back? If you haven’t been, tell me what you are planning to do there. Any questions or comments, let me know.
