Berlin

July 2016

Hello! Welcome to my blog! This is a continuation of my study abroad trip. The previous one was Munich. Enjoy!

Day 1

We couldn’t check into our Courtyyard Marriott hotel yet until 3pm, so we left our luggage in the storage room and explored the East Side Gallery. We liked it so much better here, because we have finally have wifi!

I liked the decorations of the futbols. Super spirited!

I loved the little signal detail! How cute is that little green man?! Haha

Then we took the train over to go to the East Side Gallery.

There was a Snapchat challenge to take a picture with these around Bear-lin.

There were a lot of vandalism on the artwork, so most of them were covered up by fences. Learn to appreciate art people!

There was another Snapchat challenge to post like one of the artwork.

And across the street was the Mercedes Benz Arena. Cool!

Day 2:

We did a walking tour around Berlin.

A panorama photo of both sites – they were right next to each other.

Then we saw Charlie’s Checkpoint, parts of the Berlin Wall, and the holocaust.

Then that evening, we went to the Brandenburg Gate to watch the futbol game: Germany VS France. Germany did lose, but we had so much fun. It was super crowded to get in through security, but once when we were in, everyone was nice and did not push nor shove. There was a lot of spirit as usual.

What a time to be alive!

Day 3:

It was our last day in Berlin so Renee & I did more walking and exploring. First, we went to go see Brandenburg Gate during the daytime.

Then we walked over from there to Berlin Victory Column…and wow that was a reallllly far walk. But hey, we got our exercise! Haha. So we saw it across the street but had no idea how to get over there..we walked around and back and forth and finally asked someone. They told that there was an underground passage way to get over there. Wow!

That is the end of my study abroad story! Thank you Professor Halima & Kazem for having this journalism program to focus on the refugees in Greece & Germany. It was a life changing experience. Thank you to my classmates for a fun and unforgettable adventure. If you can study abroad in college, I would highly recommend it. #viviansventures

As always, thank you for visiting Vivian’s Ventures. Have you been to Berlin? If so, tell me in the comments/reply section of your experience. What should I do there if I go back? If you haven’t been, tell me what you are planning to do there. Any questions or comments, let me know.
